| 1. Open PowerGrade |

| 2. Choose the desired class (A) from the Classes menu.
Preferences are global and do not affect just the chosen class.

| 3. Choose the File Menu (A). |

4. Pick Preferences from the drop-down menu.

| 5. Select the General Tab (A)

| 6. Locate Auto-Abbreviation

Auto-Abbreviation
|
| When checked, PowerGrade will automatically abbreviate names of assignments and categories that you create to better fit in a narrow column width. You can modify the abbreviation. |

7. Click the OK button when finished.
