| 1. Open PowerGrade |

| 2. Choose any class (A) from the Classes menu. Anything set in Preferences is global |

| 3. Choose the File Menu (A). |
 |
4. Pick Preferences from the drop-down menu.

click the Preferences icon

| 5. Select the General tab |
 |
| 6. Enter the teacher name (A) noting this is how the name will appear in the Parent Portal.
7. Check the "Use password at Startup and for Screen Lock" (B) box.
8. Add/Change the password by clicking the Change Password button (C)

| 9. Enter and confirm the password. Click the OK button.
You will then be challenged for the password when opening PowerGrade or after Locking PowerGrade.
